Common questions
Short answers for getting started.
What is ProofAnvil?
A place to practice university courses in mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering and computing, one problem at a time. You work a problem in your own words, ask for a hint when you are stuck, compare your work with a full solution, and come back to ideas that need more practice.
How do I start?
Pick your course, then choose Start your first problem. You can switch to another course at any time from Courses.
How is my answer checked?
When you are ready, open the solution, compare it with your steps, and mark the problem “Got it” or “Needs review”. This self-check is not a verified grade. Problems you mark for review come back later in Reviews.
Where do the problems come from?
Every problem, hint and solution is original and written for ProofAnvil with the help of AI. AI can make mistakes, so use “Report an issue” on the solution screen if anything looks wrong or unclear.
Can ProofAnvil do my homework?
No. ProofAnvil does not solve problems from your assignments. It gives you its own problems so you can practice the ideas and then do your coursework yourself.
What does it cost?
Anyone can browse the courses and try a sample problem without an account. A free account opens the first unit of every course, with hints and solutions. ProofAnvil Practice is $19 USD a month and opens every unit of every current course, practice sets, progress and statistics. There is no free trial. See the plan.
How do I cancel?
Open Account and choose Manage membership. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Can I get a refund?
You can request one within 7 days of a charge. Each request is reviewed before a refund is approved. Request it from your account, or read the refund policy.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. ProofAnvil runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Sign in with the same account and your progress follows you.
Can I change how it looks?
Yes. Open the account menu at the top right and pick a theme: Crimson Light, Cobalt Dark, Terminal, Rose, Synthwave, Sky, Sage or Slate.
Is my work used to train AI?
Not by default. The privacy notice explains what ProofAnvil keeps and the controls you have over it.
