Magnetic field inside and outside a charging capacitor
Problem
A circular parallel-plate capacitor of plate radius $R=4.00\,\mathrm{cm}$ is charged by a steady current $I=0.300\,\mathrm A$. Neglect fringing and take the displacement current density as uniform. Find the magnetic-field magnitude in the gap at radii (a) $r=2.00\,\mathrm{cm}$ and (b) $r=6.00\,\mathrm{cm}$ from the axis.
Hint
Inside the plate radius, the enclosed displacement current scales as $r^2/R^2$.
