Problem

A 0.80 kg particle slides down a frictionless 2.1 m vertical drop, then enters a circular loop of radius 0.55 m whose interior surface has kinetic friction coefficient 0.10. The particle starts from rest. Determine the work done by friction from the bottom of the loop to the top, assuming contact is maintained, and the speed at the top of the loop.

Hint

The drop to the bottom is frictionless; the unknown friction work lives only on the interior of the loop.
