Problem
A uniform disk of mass 8 kg and radius 140 mm is pinned at a point O on its circumference to a fixed horizontal axis and is released from rest with its mass center G at the same height as O (so OG is horizontal). Compute I_O using the parallel-axis theorem, then apply the moment equation about the fixed axis and the force–acceleration equations at G to determine the angular acceleration immediately after release and the pin reactions at O.
Hint
Parallel-axis: \(I_O=I_G+mr^2=\frac32 mr^2\) for a uniform disk pinned on the rim.
