Particle velocity and acceleration in a wave
Problem
A transverse wave is $y=A\cos(kx-\omega t)$ with $A=0.0200\,\mathrm m$ and $\omega=10.0\,\mathrm{rad/s}$. At a point where the phase is $\pi/6$, find the transverse particle velocity and acceleration. Do not confuse either with propagation speed.
Hint
Differentiate $y$ with respect to time at fixed $x$.
