Refraction at a spherical surface
Problem
A small object in air is $60.0\,\mathrm{cm}$ to the left of a spherical glass surface. The glass has index $1.50$, and the surface's center of curvature is $20.0\,\mathrm{cm}$ to the right of its vertex. Using $n_1/s+n_2/s'=(n_2-n_1)/R$, find the image distance and transverse magnification $m=-n_1s'/(n_2s)$.
Hint
Use $n_1=1.00$, $n_2=1.50$, $s=60.0\,\mathrm{cm}$, and $R=+20.0\,\mathrm{cm}$.
